The purpose for this field trip is to attend the Dollars for Darfur Lobby Days.  Pine View was one of the top five winners for the all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.  Pine View was just informed they were one of the top-five winners.  This is the reason this field trip is not within the 8-week time period.
